In the United States, about one-third of adults report that they are living with chronic stress.
If you’re one of those adults, you may have already experienced some of the long-term health effects that come with chronic stress.
Believe it or not, but stress can affect every part of your body and through your body out of sync. Thankfully, there are plenty of natural stress relief activities you can try.
1. Exercise
Exercise is one of the most common stress relief methods, especially if you can find an exercise you actually enjoy.
When you exercise, your body releases endorphins that will help make you feel happy and relaxed which will combat the stress hormone that’s in your body.
When you get a good workout, it can also help you sleep better. When you’re well-rested you’re more likely to feel less stressed, or at the very least, be able to manage it.
Some people find it difficult to exercise, especially when they are stressed, but the key is to find something that you enjoy doing that won’t feel like a chore.
2. Write
Writing is also a great way to relieve stress. It can feel very cathartic writing everything down and just getting it out of your head.
You might want to consider getting a journal and writing about your feelings and thoughts. Sometimes even crumpling up the paper and throwing it away can be therapeutic.
It doesn’t have to be journaling, however. You could also try writing a fiction world to let you escape reality.
3. Meditate
Meditation has become more popular with guided meditation apps becoming popular.
With guided meditations, you’ll learn how to control your breathing and take deep breaths that will calm your anxiety and relieve stress.
It can also teach you to be more present in the moment and notice little things rather than getting caught up in the stress of life.
4. Use CBD
If you don’t want to take medication for stress, you can always try CBD, which is a natural way to help you relax. CBD doesn’t contain THC, which is the property that gets you high. However, it can still be a great way to relax.
If you live in a state where marijuana is legal, you could also try that to relieve stress and escape all your worries for a little bit. Some companies will even deliver it to you if you’re too busy to get it yourself.

5. Spend Time With Loved Ones
Lastly, if you’re feeling stressed out, you might want to try and spend time with your family and friends.
Having a good support system you know you can go to can really help. Even if you don’t vent to them, just going out and doing something fun can help you release good hormones that will counteract the stress hormone.
